Criminal History Information
Criminal convictions are a public record, and a record of that information (or lack of convictions) is available from the Washington State Patrol's Records Section. They can be contacted by phone at 360-534-2000 or through their Request a Criminal History Report webpage.
Our goal at the Records Division is to ensure the proper chain of custody for any and all found items, safekeeping items, seized/forfeited items, and evidentiary items taken by the Shelton Police Department.
Property held in evidence are items from a criminal case. Items being held as evidence in a criminal case cannot be released until final disposition and/or approval from either the City Prosecutor's Office or Mason County Prosecutor's Office.
Found property contains items being held for safekeeping. A letter will be sent to known owners of found property. The owner will then have 60 days to retrieve the property. After that time, the property will be destroyed, auctioned, or given to charity.
Note: The Shelton Police Department will be auctioning various bicycles, tools, cell phones, electronic equipment, jewelry, knives, and skateboards through www.propertyroom.com. A complete list of items can be obtained at the Shelton Police Department (525 West Cota Street) or through the link below.
