Shelton Metropolitan Park District

The Shelton Metropolitan Park District, or SMPD, was established in 2010 by Shelton voters. The SMPD governs the management of Shelton's community parks and a variety of community recreation amenities and programs. The SMPD also provides dedicated revenue for increasing recreational needs as Shelton grows and demographics change.

The SMPD is governed by the Shelton Metropolitan Park District Board, consisting of the seven Shelton City Council members. The current Board President is Miguel Gutierrez, and the Clerk is Melissa Stearns.
