The backbone of any Police Department is the Patrol Division.  The Shelton Police Department Patrol Division is comprised of four teams of 3 Officers, supervised by Patrol Sergeants and Corporals.  The Patrol Division is responsible for peace, safety, crime prevention, crime suppression, investigation of crimes, the arrest of offenders, and arbitration of family and neighborhood disputes.

These officers patrol the City of Shelton, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are responsible for patroling Shelton's 6.11 square miles.

In 2019, the Shelton Police Department responded to 14,059 calls for service. There were 2,435 case reports generated. 772 criminal citations and 513 infractions were issued. 223 reportable traffic accidents were handled by the Department. 

The Shelton Police Department responded to an average of 38 calls per day and 17% of all calls generated a paper report. 

The Shelton Police Department continues to work with our citizens to build a stronger community together.
