Engineering
The Engineering Section currently employs 4 full-time staff members to identify public improvement needs, design and manage City-funded construction projects for utility and transportation systems, and provide technical support and information to utilities operators and the public.
The City Engineer oversees design and construction in transportation, survey, utility and development review. In addition to the City Engineer, the City employs a Regional Project manager, an Engineer Tech III/ Inspector and a CAD Operator.
Engineering reviews development proposals and inspects private construction of public facilities. This includes identifying the need for transportation and utility improvements. These costs are partially recovered from fees assessed on developers for plan review and inspection.
