Volunteers Make a Difference

Officer Arrel Dayton at the Forest Festival
The Shelton Police Department Reserve Unit has proven itself to be a valuable asset to the City. With the assistance of these fine Officers, the Police Department continues to be able to provide services to the citizens of Shelton, that otherwise would be difficult or impossible.
How to Become a Shelton Police Reserve Officer
Come to the Shelton Police Department and pick up an application. Once your application is reviewed you will be notified via a confirmation letter that your application will be on the list, pending the next reserve academy. Once the upcoming reserve academy is reserved you will be contacted for an initial interview. You will then be set up for an Oral Board Interview, comprised of officers and citizens. After the interview you will have to complete and pass an extensive background check by our detectives. You will also be required to pass a polygraph and psychological test. Once you have completed those requirements you will be slotted to attend the Reserve Police Academy. If you have questions pertaining to the program, contact the Reserve Coordinator Lt. Eklund at (360) 432-5145.
The Shelton Police Department would like to honor Reserve Officer of the Year 2009.
