No Liability Insurance

If you receive a ticket for no insurance and you had insurance on the violation date, you may file proof of insurance with the Court Clerk, and the charge will then be dismissed and not go on your driving record. If this occurs more than one time there will be a $25 administrative fee. If you obtained insurance after you were given the ticket, and it is the first such ticket you have received, you may bring proof of insurance to the Court Clerk and pay a penalty of $150 to clear the infraction or you may request a mitigation hearing (box 2 on the infraction notice) to explain the circumstances. If it is not your first insurance ticket, you must either pay the full penalty of $538 or request a mitigation or contested hearing. If you have obtained insurance, bring proof of having done so to show the Judge at the hearing.
