Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010, Communications Officer Doug Smith answered a 911 call from a hysterical individual advising that her daughter was injured. Aid was called out immediately as Communications Officer Smith questioned the caller further. During questioning the extent of the injury and critical nature of the call were discovered. Law Enforcement was dispatched. MACECOM Supervisor Becky Langdon, Communication Officers Kelly Shriver and Cathy Field (not pictured) along with Doug Smith worked as a team to deal with calls associated with the incident all while keeping up with extensive radio traffic. They focused on handling the incident professionally and were there for each other when the true horror of the incident set in. They are a credit to MACECOM and an invaluable resource for all of the citizens in Mason County.
